Historically, the SAG Awards are about as entertaining as a front row seat at Miami Swim Week. But what the ceremony lacks in prestige, the red carpet makes up for with panache. Think back to 2001 when Sarah Jessica Parker nearly broke the Internet when she waltzed out onto the stage in an embellished bandeau top worn with a matching midi skirt. That’s a SAG look for the books. Now, fast forward to the 21st annual Screen Actors Guild, held last night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Are you really that surprised that there wasn’t a boring black dress in sight? We didn’t think so. As predicted, A-listers matched their moxie in a parade of daring sartorial choices ranging from a tiered purple maternity gown to a tuxedo jumpsuit. One thing’s for sure: We’d all like a little more where that came from.
