HOW TO KEEP MEAT FRESH LONGER
Rule 1: Minimize the meat’s exposure to air. Pack the meat in a close container or bag with air removed.
Rule 2: Removing the air helps meat retain its freshness. If you are planning to keep the meat in a freezer, use airtight packages. They reduce meat exposure to freezer burn.
Rule 3: If possible use vacuum sealed packages. They help retain the freshness of the meat. The natural deep red colour of the meat will indocate that the package is sealed properly.
Rule 3: Wait about 10-15 minutes after opening the package for the colour of the meat to turn again to bright cherry red, just the way you are familiar with.
Rule 4: Once the package is open use the whole meat. Do not refreeze!
Rule 5: Do not forget that all the packing trays and sealed bags are recycled. Enjoy your meal and keep green!
